Tariq Dar

Tariq has lived in Brent for the past 55 years. For 30 of those years he has actively supported the Labour Party with local and national campaigns. His success is based on strong community networks, good public relations and strong family support. Due to his 40 years of voluntary work he has been awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 2019. As well as his Chairmanship of a community organisation, he has performed other voluntary roles as a trustee of both the Cricklewood Library and Friends of Gladstone Park.
Tariq has been a Mapesbury councillor since 2018. He has actively supported local residents in opposing unwanted developments, such as the concrete plant in Cricklewood and the B&Q development. Tariq has always taken up campaigns on behalf of local residents such as the campaign for disabled lift access to Willesden Green Station, the Mapesbury Food Bank and anti-litter drive in local parks and streets, among other things. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic he has supported the local community with promoting the vaccination at the Mosque and the Brent Vaccine Bus outside the Cricklewood Post Office.
