Cllr Promise Knight is a Stonebridge councillor, first elected in 2018. She grew up in Brent and has been a dedicated advocate for the Stonebridge community, focused on improving local services and strengthening support for residents.
Promise currently serves as Brent’s Cabinet Member for Customer Experience, Resident Support and Culture. In her cabinet roles, she has also held responsibility for Community Safety and Engagement since 2020, working closely with partners to tackle the issues residents raise most often.
She has supported local action to improve the flow and cleanliness of the Canal Feeder, worked to address anti-social behaviour and improve community safety, and championed greater civic participation through the ‘Stonebridge Neighbourhood Champion’ initiative. Promise has also worked with employers including Amazon Logistics to help create training and job opportunities for local people.
Promise is particularly committed to being a voice for young people growing up in Brent. Having supported herself and lived independently from the age of sixteen, she brings resilience and determination to public service, drawing on her own experiences to champion opportunity, ambition and fair chances for others.
