Lloyd McLeish

Lloyd is a long-standing Labour activist and former councillor with deep roots in Brent and a strong record of public service in Harlesden and the wider borough.

He has been involved in Labour campaigning since the late 1980s, supporting general elections, council elections, mayoral and assembly campaigns, by-elections and referendum campaigning. Over the years, he has canvassed and delivered leaflets across Brent, helped with voter ID activity, and supported Labour candidates at local and national level. He has also contributed to party organisation locally, including involvement in CLP selection processes.

From 2014 to 2022, Lloyd served as a Labour councillor for Harlesden ward. During his time on the council he held regular surgeries, worked closely with residents on day-to-day issues, and built strong relationships with community organisations, local businesses and neighbourhood groups. He served on key committees including Licensing, Alcohol and Entertainment, and Audit, bringing careful judgement and attention to evidence when making decisions. He also spoke up for Harlesden residents in the council chamber and supported local campaigns on issues such as public services.

Alongside his political work, Lloyd has contributed through community volunteering. He supported regeneration and community engagement work in South Kilburn through voluntary work with a local charity, and later volunteered at Christ Church in Kilburn, helping to provide hospitality and build local connections.

Lloyd believes in Labour values of fairness, solidarity and opportunity, and is committed to strong public services, safer neighbourhoods, and improving housing and the local environment for residents across Brent.
