I have lived in Brent for 27 years and am proud to call Northwick Park home. I am a lifelong Labour supporter and have been a party member for the past 10 years. Over that time, I have represented the party in a range of roles in Northwick Park ward and Brent West CLP.
I am able to communicate in four languages: English, Punjabi, Hindi/Urdu and German. I have been a dedicated and active team player for the past five years in Northwick Park ward and within Brent West CLP, bringing loyalty, reliability and strong management experience. I am used to leading teams, setting clear goals and working hard to deliver results.
I am passionate about serving Brent and supporting local residents. I have taken part in many community events and have developed a deep appreciation for Brent’s diversity and the strong community spirit that makes the borough special. I am approachable, hardworking and committed to working as part of a team to help Labour maintain its strong support in Brent.
I am also committed to ensuring our politics better reflects the communities we serve. Over the last 27 years I have seen the Sikh community grow in Brent, yet it remains under-represented in local decision-making. If elected, I would be Brent Labour’s first female Sikh councillor, and I hope I would not be the last.
