Arshad has been a councillor for Dollis Hill Ward since 2014 and served as Mayor of Brent from 2018 to 2019. He has a strong track record of local community leadership and a practical, hands-on approach to casework and neighbourhood issues.
He is passionate about keeping Dollis Hill clean and well maintained, with a focus on tackling fly-tipping, improving street cleaning, and protecting local green spaces. Arshad is also committed to continuing the repair and improvement of roads and footpaths, pressing for timely resurfacing, safer crossings, and better accessibility for older residents, disabled people and families with buggies.
Above all, he wants Dollis Hill to remain a welcoming, inclusive neighbourhood where people of all backgrounds and cultures feel they belong. He is proud of the ward’s diversity and works to strengthen community cohesion by listening to residents, supporting local groups and faith communities, and standing up against prejudice and discrimination in all its forms.
