Brent Labour is working to bring a brand-new London Overground line to West London, with new stations at Harlesden and Neasden.
The West London Orbital (WLO) would bring under-used freight railway back into passenger use, running from Hounslow through Ealing and Brent to Hendon in Barnet.
It would give Brent residents new direct connections to Old Oak Common, Brent Cross and the Golden Mile, linking our communities to thousands more jobs, homes and opportunities across West London.
The plans are expected to help deliver:
- More than 15,000 new homes
- More than 11,500 new jobs
- Nearly £500 million in wider economic benefits
- New WLO stations at Harlesden and Neasden
For Brent, the benefits would be even closer to home. New fully accessible stations are planned at Harlesden and Neasden, with up to six trains an hour.
Journey times would be transformed. Harlesden to Brent Cross West could fall from 39 minutes to just 13 minutes, while Neasden to Old Oak Common could fall from 44 minutes to only 11 minutes.
The WLO would also support around 4,100 new homes in Brent, take more than 1.3 million car kilometres a year off our roads.
This is about more than a new railway. It is about connecting communities like Harlesden and Neasden to jobs, education and opportunity, while making it quicker and easier to travel across West London.
Brent Labour is backing the West London Orbital and working with TfL and our neighbouring boroughs to turn these plans into reality.
