Parvez Ahmed

Parvez has lived in Dollis Hill for over 28 years and has served as a councillor since 2014. He is passionate about social justice and equality, and about improving opportunities for young people. As a local resident and full-time councillor, Parvez is out and about in the ward most days and is known for being accessible and responsive to residents.

In recent years, he has advocated for and supported the Neasden Civic Masterplan, helping to secure a commitment of £10.5 million to improve public spaces, transport links and sustainability, as well as to bring new jobs and support the local economy. With a particular interest in youth provision, Parvez has also worked closely with Cricklewood Boxing Club to strengthen its offer for young people and women.

Parvez is a strong champion for the local environment. He has supported initiatives to plant new trees in Gladstone Park and across Dollis Hill, alongside wider work to improve neighbourhoods and the public realm. He also has a long record of volunteering, most recently with the Central Mosque of Brent’s Community Kitchen and Foodbank.

Parvez represented Brent as Mayor in 2016 to 2017 and has served on a range of council committees. He has been Chair of the Licensing Committee for the past seven years, alongside other responsibilities.
