Fathima Naleer

Fathima Naleer has a degree in Politics and a strong interest in local issues and community representation. She has been actively involved in canvassing and speaking with residents across Brent, building an understanding of the concerns people raise about local services, housing, and neighbourhood conditions.

Through this engagement, Fathima has developed a practical, resident-focused approach centred on listening carefully, following up on issues, and maintaining a consistent presence in the community. She believes local representatives should be visible, accessible and accountable, and is committed to making sure residents feel supported when navigating council services and raising concerns.

Fathima is standing as a Labour candidate because she wants to play a more direct role in improving everyday life for residents, helping to address local challenges while contributing to longer-term improvements across the borough. She is particularly interested in ensuring that services are responsive and that investment reflects the needs of local communities.

As a young Asian woman, Fathima is also motivated by the importance of representation in local politics. She wants to help ensure that Brent’s diversity is reflected in decision-making and that more people feel able to take part in shaping their community.
