Rajan Seelan

Rajan Seelan has now been selected as the Labour Party Candidate for Wembley Central ward for the local elections on 5 May 2022. He has lived in Brent for over 30 years and is an active member and campaigner for the Labour Party, having been the chair of Kenton Branch and a campaign coordinator.

As a Labour candidate in Kenton Ward for the local elections in 2018, he has done extensive campaigning in the north of the borough, managing to narrow the gap by more than 300 votes in Kenton, a historically Conservative area.

He is a Civil Engineer by profession and works for another London council within the Highway and Traffic Engineering Department. As a Civil Engineer he works regularly on environmental issues, liaising with councillors and members of the public to resolve highways issues.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, he took the opportunity help the vulnerable, working for 6 months with the Shielding Team.

He will work to promote Labour Party policies on Community Wealth Building and to give the residents of Wembley Central an equal opportunity to succeed.
