Orleen Hylton has lived her entire life in Brent, attending a local school, and going on to work for Brent for 22 years before working extensively in the voluntary sector.
Since becoming a councillor in 2014 Orleen has led a number of task groups on various issues including: safeguarding, affordable housing and Council tax support. Orleen prides herself on being proactive in the political and community spheres being secretary of BAME Labour, Lead Diversity of Brent Friends of the Earth, the NHS Community Group, Vice-Chair of the Labour Women’s Forum and Vice-Chair of Brent Co-op.
Orleen is a passionate advocate for representing and celebrating cultural heritage, organising Brent’s first Windrush event; and is proud to have organised visits from the commissioners of Jamaica and Barbados. Orleen has supported many campaigns close to her heart, including the Black Lives Matter movement, divestment from fossil fuels and against the closure of the A&E unit at Central Middlesex.
Orleen is the current Deputy-Mayor of Brent and member of Employees’ Joint Consultative Committee.
Surgery Details
The Preston ward councillors surgeries will take place on the first Saturday of each month from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, commencing in October 2022.
The surgery will take place at Preston Community Library and Hub Ashley Gardens, Wembley HA9 8NP.
