Orleen Hylton

Orleen Hylton has lived her entire life in Brent, attending a local school, and going on to work for Brent for 22 years before working extensively in the voluntary sector.

Since becoming a councillor in 2014 Orleen has led a number of task groups on various issues including: safeguarding, affordable housing and Council tax support. Orleen prides herself on being proactive in the political and community spheres being secretary of BAME Labour, the NHS Community Group and Vice Chair of the Labour Women’s Forum.

Orleen is involved across the constituency Labour Party as a Membership Secretary and CLP Secretary and takes a keen interest in environmental issues as the Lead officer for the Friends of the Earth.

Orleen is a passionate advocate for representing and celebrating cultural heritage, sponsoring Brent’s first Windrush event; and is proud to have organised visits from the commissioners of Jamaica and Barbados. Orleen has supported many campaigns close to her heart, including the Black Lives Matter movement, divestment from fossil fuels and against the closure of the A&E unit at Central Middlesex.

Orleen will work tirelessly to recognise the needs of her ward and strive to empower them at every step.
