Cllr Lesley Smith was elected in July 2024 and has lived in Queen’s Park for over 20 years, raising her daughter in the area. With a background in communications and public policy, she brings strong experience in listening to residents, working with partners, and helping to shape practical, resident-focused solutions.
Since being elected, Lesley has prioritised visible, responsive community engagement and casework, supporting residents on everyday issues and helping them navigate council services. She is particularly focused on improving local services and the public realm, including keeping streets clean, ensuring public spaces feel safe and welcoming, and championing practical improvements that make a difference to daily life.
Lesley sits on Brent’s Corporate Parenting Committee, as well as the Licensing, Audit and Standards Committees, where she contributes to strengthening accountability, good governance and better outcomes for residents, including children in the council’s care.
