Judith Forbes

Judith is a community-focused Labour candidate who is committed to building a fairer, more inclusive Brent where everyone feels supported and able to thrive.

She is active locally through regular volunteering and community support. Judith helps to organise a Macmillan charity cake sale each September to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. She also assists with preparing and serving refreshments at church on Sundays, and volunteers once a month at a seniors’ health and wellbeing club, supporting older residents and helping to reduce isolation.

Judith brings valuable experience of public service, having previously served as an elected councillor in Jamaica for eight years. From 1990 to 1998, she represented the Trinityville Division, giving her a strong understanding of local representation, community leadership and the practical work involved in improving services for residents.

In Brent, Judith wants to be a strong advocate for local people, with a community-first approach rooted in fairness, accountability and progress. Her priorities include improving access to quality services, supporting inclusive economic opportunities, and focusing on the issues that matter most to families, including housing, education and social care. Through her work supporting vulnerable groups, including via her home care business, she has first-hand insight into the importance of responsive, people-centred services, particularly for older residents and those living with disabilities.

Judith is standing because she wants to be a voice for residents who are too often overlooked, especially young people and older people. She will work collaboratively with residents, local organisations and partners to deliver practical solutions and ensure every community in Brent is listened to and respected.
