Ishma Moeen

Ishma has lived in Brent with her family for over a decade and has built her career and community service here. She began working as a childminder before establishing and running her own nursery, dedicating herself to supporting children and families across the borough. Her Early Years experience has given her a strong understanding of the pressures families face, and the importance of ensuring every child has the best possible start in life.

Elected as a councillor in 2022, Ishma has worked hard to represent residents across Wembley Hill, supporting people with housing and employment issues, improving access to local services, and responding to concerns about anti-social behaviour. She is also a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Governor at Sudbury Primary School, helping to ensure children with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive.

Ishma serves as Brent Council’s Cabinet Champion for Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). In this role, she has worked to raise awareness, strengthen support for survivors, and work with partners to help make communities safer.

Brent is Ishma’s home, and she is proud to be a trusted, active and visible advocate for its diverse communities. If re-elected, she will continue working to make Wembley Hill stronger, fairer and more resilient, now and for the future.
