Harbi Farah arrived in Brent as refugee. He read Politics and International Relations at Middlesex University and Law, Policy and Leadership at SOAS University of London. He lives in Brent and works for a local charity that seeks to tackle the democratic deficit, and improve the quality of life of residents. Harbi was elected as a councillor in 2014 and has held two Cabinet Member posts since. Harbi is committed to improving racial equity and fairness, and is pursuing research with academics at SOAS to better understand and tackle the barriers preventing the achievement of both.
